Chartered Building Surveyor

My client, a multi-disciplinary private practice offering traditional building surveying and project management services, are currently seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join their team.
In this role you will be working within a property investment company, as retained consultants responsible for providing professional services and delivering refurbishment and redevelopment schemes across their diverse portfolio, that's primarily within London and the home counties. Covering Residential, Commercial, Retail, Industrial and Office space.
The successful candidate will be a MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor, having gained their experience across a broad range of Building Surveying disciplines, preferably obtained from a small to medium sized private practice.

Your duties will include:

  • Preparing specifications and schedules of work
  • Managing refurbishment and redevelopment projects
  • Inspecting and preparing schedules of dilapidations (mainly acting on behalf of Landlords) and agreeing settlement of claims
  • Undertaking building pathology inspections and reports
  • Taking things through tender stage and reporting thereafter
  • Undertaking inspections for licences and alterations and preparing schedules of condition
  • Completing inspections, preparing planned maintenance reports and capital expenditure plans
  • Accepting appointments under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 and resolving disputes where needed

Skills and Experience required:

  • Chartered Building Surveyor with proven experience across a broad range of asset classes
  • MRICS (at least 3 years PQE)
  • Strong Microsoft Office Package skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • NBS and AutoCAD software skills are a bonus
  • Would be desirable to have working knowledge of MS Project
  • Full UK Drivers License
