Finance Manager - South East London - Salary Depending on Experience

My client, a well-established value-add private developer, historically having specialised in luxury private sale residential projects, are seeking a Finance Manager to join their team and support the internal accounting and finance function of the business.
Boasting a successful track record, they are looking for a Finance Manager to join them as they grow their business and portfolio further within Residential, Commercial and Retirement Living.
This role will focus on active developments and standing investments at all stages of the property cycle.
Ideally you will have a client-side real estate background, having dealt with accounts and finance within the investment and development space.

The successful Finance Manager will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, a sharp eye for detail and the ability to self-motivate, whilst being comfortable in a niche office environment.

Your core duties will include:
  • Bookkeeping for the management company, including preparing sales invoices, reviewing supplier invoices and payments, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations
  • Preparation, review and finalisation of monthly/quarterly management accounts for all entities
  • Preparation of monthly cashflows and update all development project budgets for investment reporting
  • VAT returns
  • Preparation, review and finalisation of audited financial statements under IFRS / UK GAAP as well as unaudited financial statements including creating reconciliations and schedules for the auditors
  • Preparation, review and finalisation of income tax / corporate tax on an annual basis
  • Managing the statutory compliance at Companies House
  • Monitoring the debt covenants where applicable
  • Review and streamlining of internal processes, whilst contributing new ideas
  • Reconciling year end account with auditors

Skills and experience required:
  • Qualified Accountant with excellent analytical, problem solving and technical accounting skills
  • Degree in Property / Finance or equivalent
  • Real Estate experience is essential, ideally gained with a developer
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various teams; external consultants, investors, lenders, tax advisors and solicitors
  • Able to prioritise your workload in line with important deadlines
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a small team environment
