Dove & Hawk have been instructed by a global real estate consultancy who are recruiting for a Portfolio Manager within their Build-to-Rent department.

The purpose of this role is to deliver a high-quality management service for the benefit of their clients and residents. Working on a large Build-to-Rent portfolio, the successful candidate will be managing onsite members of staff and coordinating with supporting functions within the company. You will also be producing accurate client reports demonstrating performance and asset management initiatives as required.

Key responsibilities:

· Being an important part of a small team with responsibility for 11 residential buildings across the UK (approximately 2000 units);
· Provide practical management advice and assistance to onsite Resident Services Managers;
· Liaise with residents when required. Where there is an onsite Resident Services Manager, you will act as a point of escalation for them on more complex issues;
· Build a strong working relationship with the client;
· Ensure accurate client reports are prepared to correct specifications and issued to clients in accordance with agreed timescales;
· Ensure that high site standards, in respect of cleaning, repair and presentation, are always achieved and maintained (within budget constraints);
· Approve expenditure invoices;
· Review cash flow regularly and ensure tenant arrears are proactively managed in conjunction with the assigned credit controller;
· Ensure that the Facilities Manager is kept fully informed as to site issues and hold face-to-face meetings with the property management teams on a regular basis;
· Ensure Resident Services Managers are undertaking the correct measures to safeguard residents and that unit compliance is kept updated on the company system;
· Ensure clear and appropriate lines of communication are established and maintained with Facilities Managers, the Accounts team, residents, suppliers and clients;
· Undertake monthly site management visits;
· Set clear objectives in line with company/client/team strategy and measure performance against these;
· Conduct regular one-to-ones and team meetings, completing probationary, interim and annual appraisals;
· Support team members in career development via training, coaching and mentoring;
· Ensure recruitment is completed professionally and in-line with team/client/company goals, thinking strategically regarding future needs.

Person specification:

· 5+ years of experience within Property Management, ideally from within the Build-to-Rent space;
· ARLA qualified (ideally);
· Experience of managing/leading a team;
· Strong relationship building skills;
· Financial and commercial acumen with excellent planning, budgeting and operational reporting skills;
· A team player who can establish trust and credibility;
· Robust and prepared to lead from the front;
· Diplomatic and capable of influencing others;
· Ethical with strong integrity;
· Confident with a positive outlook;
· Strong decision maker who can provide assurance;

Office: West End (London) - nearest tube station is Oxford Circus
Hours: 9am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 basic salary, additional bonus of up to 20%
